A Letter from the AFG President
Let me begin by telling you how pleased I am to serve as the President of AFG. My membership in AFG has been beneficial to me in my work and I have met so many wonderful colleagues who share the same challenges that I have daily. I look forward to working with you in the coming year and to helping you find value as a member of AFG.
I want to thank our out-going president, Kathryn Dattomo, for her innovative and constructive approach to leadership and valuable service to AFG. I also would like to welcome three new AFG Board of Directors members: Arthinia Morgan, Associate Director, Healthcare Relations & Engagement for Conquer Cancer, The ASCO Foundation, Christina Sanders, Development Manager, Landscape Architecture Foundation, and Garet Turner, CAE, CMP, Vice President and Chief Development Officer, ASAE and ASAR Foundation. We appreciate these individuals’ willingness to serve as leaders of the AFG. Likewise, I want to thank the officers and committee co-chairs for their willingness to lead the organization in the coming year. And Kathryn Dattomo will chair the Nominations Committee.
Plans are being finalized for the 2020 Virtual Edge Conference. We feel this year’s dynamic program is particularly important and must be shared! AFG will offer the 2020 educational program via our Zoom platform. Sessions will be divided into multiple webinars conveniently scheduled over 4 weeks, beginning Wednesday, August 26 through Thursday, September 17. As professionals, we carry an obligation to support the growth efforts of the AFG’s mission and members. Our industry is constantly evolving and changing. As a result, some of these changes present challenges for and those challenges can often appear daunting. AFG provides you with a forum for ideation and innovation to overcome challenges presented by these evolving trends. Together, we will help you build a more resilient association.
