Luncheon Keynote Session:
Fraud ? How to proof against it and what to do when it happens
Speaker: Steven Worth, President, Plexus Consulting Group

WorthSMar2010

The nonprofit sector?s strength, that it serves a higher purpose in society, clearly also can be it weakness as holier than thou attitudes may make it easier to rationalize less-than-ethical dealings.

After detecting fraud in the operations of a major nonprofit that had received one of their grants, USAID forever banned that association from bidding on its projects?causing it to go out of business.

Nonprofit fraud is particularly painful. It is not only a betrayal of the trust that is the lifeblood of nonprofit organizations, it tarnishes everyone in the sector. This is not someone else?s problem. This is a big deal and deserves much more attention from the nonprofit community than it has received to-date.
